Doors open at 11:30 PM on Friday, 1/15/2016. The format is Two-Headed Giant Sealed. Admission to this event is $26.99 per player.
For the Oath of the Gatewatch Prerelease, each player will receive a Prerelease pack that they can use after the event as a take-home deck box. Inside each Prerelease box, there will be four Oath of the Gatewatch Booster packs and two Battle for Zendikar booster packs, a spindown life counter, and a randomized, date-stamped premium promo card, drawn from any rare or mythic rare in the set.
Unlike constructed games—where you arrive with your strategically created deck—in a sealed deck tournament, you build a new deck from six unopened booster packs at the start of the event. The guidelines require that you build a minimum deck size of 40 cards, but you can add as many basic lands (Plains, Islands, Swamps, Mountains, and Forests) as you’d like, even if they weren’t in the booster packs you opened.
Games of two-headed giant require at least four players split into two teams. In this cooperative game, each team’s two players share turns and life totals, while fighting together against the other pair of players.
